Hello. I’m Ches Moulton, The Stress Master. And I’d like to take this time to talk with you about the subject of stress.
As I record this video, many of your GP colleagues are under so much stress that they’ve already decided to leave the profession, because it’s just too much. Maybe you’ve had the same kind of thoughts.
Only recently, a GP friend of mine confided in me that he was so stressed he’d taken several weeks off work as a result, only to return to his busy GP practice and experience the debilitating levels of stress all over again – and in a very short space of time.
‘I can’t continue in this way’, he said. ‘It’s not only my work that’s suffering – it’s my family, friends…in fact, it’s taking its toll on my life. And that’s not what I signed up for when I became a GP.’ Other doctors I’ve spoken with feel that even their own judgement on patient’s conditions could become impaired due to the constant stress they face every day of their clinical practice.
